Short flash writings published as part of Cranbrook Academy of Art literary journal...
Listen Up, edited by Peter Markus, with contributions from writers that include Brian Evenson, Dan Beachy-Quick, Sean Thomas Dougherty, Mary Hamilton, Michael Kimball, Yannick Murphy, Amy E. Waterman, Gerry Craig, Mike Newton and Robert Fanning, also included two short contributions by Andrew Maydoney. The two pieces of prose, "Anosmia" and "Slip Away", are part of ongoing explorations of invented truths and the delightfully fuzzy lines between fantasy, fiction, and fact. With the guidance of Peter Markus, Maydoney develioped the texts to test the possibility that the difference between fact and fiction may turn out to be meaningless in the journey of making art. The essays were also included in the artists first spoken word effort titled Stories of Knowing.
Listen Up is available through Cranbrook Academy of Art and the Cranbrook Art Museum book store.
